Creamy Italian Dressing

Ingredients

  • cup Mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup Olive Oil
  • 3 tbsp White Wine Vinegar
  • 1-2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • ¼ tsp Onion Powder
  • ½ tsp Dried Oregano
  • ½ tsp Thyme
  • ½ tsp Dried Basil 1 tbsp Fresh Basil
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley chopped/1 tsp Dried Parsley
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • 1-2 tbsp Water optional, for thinning

Instructions

Combine The Creamy Base

  • Grab a medium mixing bowl and add the mayonnaise, olive oil, vinegar and lemon juice to form the base of the dressing.
  • Whisk the ingredients until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Add Flavorings

  • Stir in minced garlic, onion powder, dried oregano, thyme, basil and parsley.
  • Mix thoroughly until the garlic and herbs are fully blended into the creamy base.

Season and Adjust Consistency

  • Season the dressing with salt and black pepper. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  • Whisk in a little water if the dressing feels too thick. Keep adding it gradually and mixing until you reach your desired consistency.

Chill, Serve, and Enjoy

  • Transfer the Italian dressing to a jar or a container with a cover.
  • Refrigerate the dressing for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serve the deliciously creamy Italian dressing over your favorite salad, roasted veggies, or use it as a dip!

Notes

  1. Instead of white wine vinegar, you can use apple cider vinegar or white distilled vinegar. If you use white distilled vinegar, first use 1 and 1/2 tbsp, then taste it, then add more if you want.
  2. If you want to substitute mayonnaise in creamy Italian dressing, you can use Greek yogurt, sour cream, or plain unsweetened yogurt.
