Spaghetti Bolognese Recipe

For the Bolognese Sauce
- 3 tbsp  / 45 ml Olive Oil
- 4 cloves   Garlic Minced
- 1   large Onion Finely Chopped
- 2   sticks Celery Finely Chopped
- 1   medium-size Carrot Finely Chopped
- 500 grams   Beef Minced
- 1 cup  / 250 ml Beef Stock
- 2   Bay Leaves
- 1 tbsp   Basil Leaves Chopped
- 1 tsp  / 6 g Salt
- 2 tsp  / 8 g Sugar
- 1 tsp  / 2 g Oregano
- 1 tsp  / 2 g Chili Flakes
- ½ tsp  / 1 g Black Pepper
- 2 tbsp  / 32 g Tomato Paste
- 800 grams   Whole Tomatoes Canned
For The Spaghetti
- 1 tbsp  / 18 g Salt
- 400 grams   Spaghetti
Saute Garlic, Onion and Vegetables
- Place a Dutch oven or large pot on the stove over medium-high heat. Pour 3 tbsp of olive oil into the pot. 
- Add 4 cloves of minced garlic and 1 large finely chopped onion to the pot. Saute the garlic and onion for 2-3 minutes. 
- Add 2 sticks of finely chopped celery and 1 medium-sized finely chopped carrot to the pot. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning. 
Add Minced Beef and Stock
Season The Sauce
- Add 2 bay leaves and 1 tbsp of chopped basil leaves to the pot. 
- Sprinkle 1 tsp of salt and 2 tsp of sugar over the sauce. 
- Season the beef with 1 tsp of oregano, 1 tsp of chili flakes, and ½ tsp of black pepper. Stir well to mix the seasonings. 
Add Tomatoes and Simmer
- Add 2 tbsp of tomato paste and 800 grams of canned whole tomatoes to the cooking pot. Mix the tomatoes and seasonings with the beef mixture. 
- Bring the sauce to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for 1 hour. Stir occasionally to prevent the sauce from sticking. 
Cook The Spaghetti
- Place a deep saucepan on the stove and fill it with water. Bring the water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti when the bolognese sauce is nearly finished cooking. 
- Add 1 tbsp of salt to the boiling water and stir to dissolve. 
- Add 400 grams of spaghetti to the water and boil them according to the package instructions. Use tongs to ensure the spaghetti is submerged. 
- Once the spaghetti is cooked, drain and wash them with cold water to stop the cooking process. 
Serve and Enjoy!
- Open the lid of the bolognese sauce and give it a final stir. 
- Place a portion of the spaghetti on the plate and spoon the bolognese sauce generously on top.
