Ingredients

  • 5 Large Egg Yolks
  • 5 Tbsp / 60 g Sugar
  • 8-10 Pieces Strawberries
  • ½ Tsp / 3 ml Vanilla Essence Optional
  • Dark Chocolate Shavings Optional

Instructions

Prepare Strawberries

  • Take 8 to 10 pieces of strawberries on a cutting board and cut strawberries into quarters.
  • Then place them in a bowl and add a tablespoon of sugar to that, give it a good mix, and keep aside.
  • Sugar draws out water from strawberries and forms a sugary syrup, so this process makes the strawberries more juicy and glossy.

Make Zabaglione Base

  • Separate 5 large egg yolks in a heatproof bowl.
  • Add 4 tbsp sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla essence to the yolks. Whisk the yolks and sugar together until the sugar dissolves and the mixture becomes a little creamy.
  • Place the bowl over a pan of simmering water, making sure that the water doesn't touch the bottom of the bowl.
  • Continue whisking for 6-7 minutes more until the mixture is thick, creamy, and almost tripled in volume.

Assemble Zabaglione

  • Assemble the dish by placing half of the prepared juicy strawberries in the bottom of the dish.
  • Then, pour the zabaglione and top it with some dark chocolate shavings or any other toppings of your choice.

Serve and Enjoy!

  • Serve immediately, or it can be served chilled.  You can also serve this with granola to have a yummy breakfast. Enjoy!
