There is nothing that is not special about this 3 ingredient Oreo Fudge. It is soft, creamy, and a little chewy, with that perfect texture it tastes good both cold and at room temperature.

What will you need  for this Oreo fudge recipe (Just 3 ingredients)

Ingredients to make Only 3 Ingredient Oreo Fudge

Okay I get that this recipe requires only 3 ingredients and I don’t have to make a big deal out of it, but on a serious note, you must get to know about the ingredients to understand their role in preparing this delectable dessert.

White Chocolate

Being the star ingredient of this recipe, White Chocolate excellently does the dual job of enhancing the flavor and the texture. Loaded with cocoa butter, white chocolate provides a rich and creamy texture to the fudge and ensures that it sets properly.

Talking about the flavor white chocolate offers a buttery and sweet flavor to the fudge that pairs well with Oreos. This provides this Fudge with a more satisfying and rich taste.

Oreos

Pretty evident that Oreo fudge cannot be made without Oreo cookies. While some recipes suggest crushing the Oreos so that they combine well with the fudge, I like to chop them in small chunks, this is because of the crunch that they provide with each bite. I believe crushed Oreos might get dissolved in the fudge mixture while mixing but you can choose whichever option satisfies you more. Oreos provide a slight bitterness to the fudge that pairs well with the sweet and smooth flavor of the white chocolate and condensed milk.

Condensed milk

I like to use condensed milk in place of normal milk for this fudge recipe because it not only provides a dense flavor but also acts as a binding agent. Condensed milk contains more moisture in comparison to normal milk as a result of which this moisture makes the fudge set evenly and properly while ensuring that it doesn’t get too hard and melts in your mouth.

Additionally, Condensed milk complements the flavor of white chocolate providing the right amount of sweetness and creaminess to the fudge.

How to store leftover Oreo Fudge

Although something inside my head makes me so sure that you wouldn’t be left with any of that delicious fudge still if you have made an extra batch or are left with some of it, then here’s how you can easily store it.

Just cut the fudge into small cubes transfer it to an air-tight container and refrigerate. This will last you for a good two weeks. If you are planning to store it for a longer time then I would suggest that you don’t, as the fudge tastes best when consumed fresh, storing it for a longer time will lead to it losing its chewiness and soft texture.

Instructions

  • To make this 3 Ingredient-only Fudge, grease up a 7×7-inch pan with butter and line it with parchment paper. Make sure to grease the pan well, preventing the fudge from sticking to it.
  • Finely chop the white chocolate, and set aside. Next dice the Oreo pieces into bite-sized chunks, making sure that they aren’t too big or too small and perfect to combine with the fudge.
  • Heat a saucepan over low heat and add in the condensed milk, throw in the chopped white chocolate.
  • Cook this on low heat until the chocolate is melted completely. Keep stirring during this process to ensure that the chocolate doesn’t burn.
  • Once the chocolate has melted, add a cube of unsalted butter to the mixture and give it a good mix.
  • Turn off the heat and add in the chopped Oreos to the fudge mixture. Gently fold the Oreos into the mixture. One thing to keep in mind here is to not mix the Oreos and the Fudge blend, rigorously as it will break the Oreo chunks.
  • Transfer the prepared fudge mixture into the lined baking pan and spread it evenly. Flatten the top with a spatula.
  • Tap the pan 2-3 times, and top with some more Oreo chunks for added flavor. Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours or overnight.
  • Once the Fudge is completely set, cut into small cubes and serve.

Notes

White chocolate bar over chips
Although white chocolate chips would look similar to melted white chocolate bars, it is essential to note that the chocolate bar has more cocoa butter content than the chocolate chips, which ensures that the fudge sets evenly and has a smooth rich texture, so making sure that you use high-quality white chocolate with high cocoa butter content.
Handling the Condensed Milk
When I first made this recipe, it didn’t come out perfect and I realised much later what went wrong. My biggest mistake of all was to cook condensed milk over high heat, which led to a grainy texture and my fudge didn’t set properly. It is essential to understand that Condensed milk has a lot less water than normal milk, this is why it should always be worked on over low heat.
Setting the fudge
For the fudge to come out clean, you must let it set at least for 2 hours in the refrigerator or even better, overnight. Do not attempt to cut it into pieces before time, as it will lead to uneven pieces and probably a huge mess for you. Once the fudge has been set completely, take it out of the fridge, and cut it using a sharp knife, this will give you clean and beautiful pieces of this sweet fudge.
Serving suggestions
For your Oreo fudge to look more aesthetic and pleasing, save some bigger Oreo chunks and drop them on top of the fudge before setting it. These will not only make your fudge look prettier but also give a crunch to it. Additionally, you can also drizzle the fudge with some melted white chocolate before serving.
